MENTORSHIP
PROGRAM
Next Gen hosted a one-on-one peer mentorship program where experienced mentors guided high school students through the university application process, course registration, and navigating academic pathways.
HOLIDAY TREAT BOXES
Next Gen hosted a Holiday Treat Box Fundraiser, selling curated boxes of festive goodies to raise funds for the Next Gen Scholarship Fund, because why not support students’ educational dreams while indulging in some well-deserved holiday treats?
UNIVERSITY SEMINAR
Next Gen hosted a university seminar featuring panelists from various programs who answered questions live from high school students, offering valuable insights into different fields of study, application processes, and campus life.
GRAD SCHOOL INFO SESSION
Next Gen held a Grad School Info Session where professionals from programs like Dentistry, Medicine, and Law shared their experiences and offered practical advice to university students preparing for advanced studies.
TRIVIA NIGHT
NextGen hosted a trivia night where contestants came out and enjoyed a fun, engaging evening filled with exciting rounds of trivia questions. The event brought together students and community members in friendly competition, with all proceeds contributing to NextGen’s scholarship funds to support youth education.
MED 101
NextGen hosted a Med 101 seminar targeted towards aspiring medical students. The panel was hosted by NextGen members in collaboration with UBC medical students as guest speakers. Attendees received key insights into strengthening medical school applications, choosing the right prerequisites, and hearing real student experiences.
DENT 101
NextGen hosted a Dent 101 seminar for pre-dental students. UBC dentistry students shared their journeys, challenges, and advice, followed by a live Q&A.
LAW 101
In collaboration with UBC Allard law school students, NextGen held an information session. Current law students shared their journeys to law, navigating the workload, and what they did to prepare.
PHYSIO 101
NextGen hosted a physiotherapy information seminar for perspective students. Current UBC physiotherapy students provided insights on their paths to physio school, what day-to-day life looks like in grad school, and a glimpse at life after graduating.
COURSE REGISTRATION PROGRAM
NextGen members provided individualized assistance to undergraduate students who needed faculty guidance for course registration.
